Testimonials

John Moran

Construction Director

John Paul Construction

“I have had the pleasure of working with Griffin Plastering on two restoration projects over the last few years. The Pearse Lyons Distillery and The Shelbourne Hotel.

On both projects Paul and his Team’s attention to detail was superb. The quality of the works was exceptional, and the Clients and Design Teams associated with the projects were very complementary of Griffin Plastering’s work.

Griffin Plastering are very professional in what they do, and they fully respect the historical buildings they work in.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Griffin Plastering”

“The National Gallery of Ireland includes plasterwork of varying techniques, ages, and types. During the refurbishment project Griffin Plastering proved to be both capable, and fully engaged, in ensuring the appropriate techniques and materials were used in all cases. Works to decorative plasterwork included creating moulds and casting to match missing details, as well as running repairs in-situ. Elsewhere a variety of traditional plasters were applied to both laths and hard backgrounds. Throughout the project Griffin Plastering were happy to both listen, and to advise and share expertise, ensuring the best results were achieved in all cases. Griffin Plastering were a pleasure to work with, as well as producing work of high quality. We would be delighted to recommend them for work of a similar nature. ”

Contracts Director

Duggan Brothers (Contractors) Ltd

“Griffin Plastering were appointed by Duggan Brothers (Contractors) Ltd., to carry out lime rendering to the existing masonry walls and also the conservation of the existing lath and plaster ceilings on the historic New Square Residence building in Trinity College Dublin. Following a very significant refurbishment and change of layout of this iconic building, a significant amount of the internal lime render had to be replaced. Furthermore, a significant proportion of the existing ceilings had deteriorated to the extent that a new stainless steel wire support system had to be painstakingly implemented to stabilise and reinforce the existing lath ceiling system before repairs to the ceiling finish could take place. Griffin Plastering proved a most competent conservation contractor in this regard. They carried out their works in a professional, competent and efficient manner. From the outset they demonstrated an advanced understanding of the principals of conservation and always provided sufficient resources with the required level of skill and experience to carry out this work to our requirements, the expectations of the Conservation Architects and the Client. The works were carried out to the required standard, on time and within the budgetary constraints of this GCC contract. We look forward to working with Griffin Plastering in the future.”

"Griffin Plastering provided traditional lime plastering skills to a large private residence project in Rathgar. They were knowledgeable about their craft and skilled in the use of materials and in sourcing suitable lime and sand to provide a range of textures and finishes required for both internal and external works. We would recommend them as a specialist contractor for this work."
