Goethe-Institut 37 Merrion Square East

Built in the 1760s Merrion Square is regarded as one of Dublin’s finest squares. When first build Merrion Square attracted the Aristocrats, bishops and the wealthy.

37 Merrion Square is now owned by the Goethe-Institut.

Griffin Plastering was contracted to carry out all the internal and external plaster restoration/conservation work on 37 Merrion. These works include removing all paint from the beautiful 18th century plasterwork (cornicing, friezes and decorative ceilings), traditional lime plastering internally and externally, lath and plaster, consolidate ceiling and crack repairs. Griffin Plastering also had to carry out all repairs in decorative plasterwork including existing damage, where substandard repairs were carried out and repairs after new services.
